About Burswood
Burswood, Australia, is a suburb of Perth in the state of Western Australia. The city is adjacent to the Swan River. Burswood began as a private estate for the Camfield family. It was situated on a peninsula that became an island in the middle of the nineteenth century when a canal was dug across it. A railroad was constructed in the late nineteenth century to connect the land to other places in Australia. The suburb was known as Riverdale from 1921 until 1993.
This suburb has several attractions and features for tourists. One of its most popular sites for visitors is Belmont Park, which offers spectators views of various horse races. Visitors also flock to the Burswood Entertainment Complex, which features a casino, several restaurants, bars, a nightclub, and two upscale hotels. The complex also features a stadium, known as the Burswood Dome, an indoor theatre, and a convention center. Near to the complex is a park which features wildflowers, statues, nature trails and a golf course. The complex is served by the Burswood Train Station.
